CALLANETICS® was developed in the 70's as the brain child of a Callan Pinckney. She developed it as a self help method to alleviate injury and pain, after extensive travelling. As it was low impact, it immediately gained popularity and claimed to allow users to turn back the clock on their body. Essentially, you perform an increasing number of small controlled pulse like movements on major muscle groups in the body. Through this deep exercising of the muscle layers, they became leaner and tighter through contraction and stretching, which allowed users to gain a sleeker silhouette and hence look as they did 10 years previously.
Today, the whole CALLANETICS® movement has developed and newer more advanced techniques are used. All moves are biomechanically assessed prior to use and tested through instructors to ensure they produce results.
