Cultural Care Au Pair Informacje o firmie

Ogólne informacje

Cultural Care Au Pair offers families a unique childcare alternative and au pairs the chance to gain work and life experience in the USA.

|| Who are our host families?
Our host families live in communities all over the country and share a common desire to provide live-in, one-on-one care for their children. Families welcome au pairs into their homes as extended family members and, benefit not only from individualized, trusted care but exposure to different languages, culture and customs.

Host families share details about their family members, household, neighborhood and schedule through their online profile. They submit references, agree to a criminal background check and undergo an in-home interview with the local childcare consultant (LCC) in their community.

|| Who are our au pairs?
Our au pairs are ages 18-26 years old and come from over 25 different countries all over the world. They arrive to the U.S. with a one-year visa, and the option to extend up to one additional year. Au pairs are motivated to join American families in order to gain valuable work and life experience, improve their English, experience American culture, challenge themselves personally and gain an American family.

All au pairs have childcare experience, which may include teaching, nannying or babysitting, and pass an extensive screening and selection process. Cultural Care au pairs are also personally interviewed by Cultural Care staff in our recruitment offices overseas to ensure they have the right motivation for traveling to the U.S. and a competent command of the English language.

|| How are host families and au pairs matched?
Host families are encouraged to find potential au pairs with the help of a Cultural Care Placement Manager and by using our online search tool. Families can reserve their favorite matches and interview them by phone or Skype. Families and au pairs are encouraged to ask as many questions and to talk for as long as they need to in order to feel confident in a match. Once a family and au pair have mutually agreed to a match, Cultural Care takes care of the appropriate visa forms and travel arrangements. Before arriving to a family’s home, an au pair will spend four days at our Au Pair Training School reviewing child development and safety, completing American Red Cross Training in adult and pediatric CPR/AED and First Aid and attending a classroom course on driver’s and personal safety.

|| What is expected of host families during the year?
We expect that our host families will welcome au pairs as family members. A family should be prepared to include their au pair in American traditions and holidays, reach out to her to help her understand new experiences, and support her in the adjustment of functioning in a new language and culture. Families also must abide by the U.S. Department of State regulations including limiting an au pair’s childcare hours (no more than 45 hours per week and 10 hours per day) and paying her stipend each week.

|| What is expected of au pairs during the year?
We expect that our au pairs will make childcare duties their number one priority during the year. Au pairs are also expected to try their best, be a good example, ask for help if they need it, and to make the most out of their year abroad.

|| Why choose Cultural Care Au Pair?
